JConnelly CEO cautions public companies to battle perception, not just the facts, when refuting web-based stock “experts.”
The Philly.com article dives into the “fake news” phenomenon, which has made it hard to seek out financial advice and make sound financial decisions. Stock promoters have particularly been been terrible offenders of spreading this type of false news.
The article goes on to explain what certain news outlets are doing to try and combat some of the false information and how others have been affected. The SEC alleged that some “expert” investors who were contributing to on seekingalpha.com weren’t experts at all.
